Thank you Jay. I am excited to be here and will happily mingle around for the next few days to get the feel of the site and see all the beautiful works. Right now I work with 3D in Polymer clay, but who know, this group may temp me to pick up an art brush again.

Thanks for the welcome Jay! I've been having a lot of trouble getting on this site. As a matter of fact I just wrote you a long reply and it disappeared. It must be me!
Thanks for the leads. I did join PAG so far and will do the same in Bristol. I hope to be accepted in shows and galleries again eventually. I'd best get busy painting new work!
I've enjoyed browsing your work as well, here and on the pAG site. You're quite versatile! Okay, things are acting up again so I'd better go before I lose this post! Thanks again!

Thanks. it is an "old master" copy (except for face) by Wouters. i put it in that show because when i had it on display at the Uncommon Art Outdoor show, two 7 or 8 year old girls said Ew! Gross! when they passed by. i wondered if their parents ever took them to a museum.

Hi Jay
I would be very interested in hearing your comments about a life after engineering. My wife is the same way; we lived in Hawaii (Kauai, and Oahu) for six years before moving back to the east coast 3 years ago, main reason was to be near our too daughters and granddaughter.
My mother’s family was originally from Bristol and I still have cousins that live in town. My uncle used to own and live across the street from the county cleaners on the corner of Hope and State Street. When I was in my early teens, I use to go striped bass fishing off Colts drive.
This coming Saturday morning would be a good time for me if you have the time. Just pick a place and time.

Hi Jay
Read your Bio, you were an electrical engineer in your other life. Maybe there is hope for me; I am an electrical engineer getting close to retirement. I work at Draper labs in Cambridge Ma. Mostly doing RF, microwave circuit and antenna design/development. I will be 62 this coming August and have to make a decision on what I am going to do. The wife wants me to retire, sell our place in Arlington and make our place in Bristol our primary residence. Do you miss being an engineer?
Anyway, the mad hatter painting has been fun, different than most of the portraits that I have done, lots of color. It needs a lot of work and it is a long way from being completed.
I will try dumping a photo on the critique site and see what happens.
