Thanks for the feedback! I'm sorry the site isn't as easy to use as you'd like. It sounds like you pointed out a few issues:
1. It's hard to find where to make friends
There are many places to make friends. "Add as friend" links are scattered throughout the site (like when you view someone's photo, you'll find it right below the title of the photo), and in central places. Additionally, if you click on anyone's photo or name, you'll be taken to their profile page. All profile pages have prominent "Add as Friend" links, right below the profile photo, like this:

So to make friends, just start exploring the site, and then visit members' pages to add them as a friend.
2. You're having trouble figuring out where to view comments on your profile
On Facebook, you'll find your comments on a friend's profile on their profile page. On Create Rhode Island, it works the same way. Then, to see what they wrote on your profile page, just visit your profile page. Unless Facebook, you can't then comment on those comments — you need to visit the friend's page to comment back — but I think that actually makes it a bit less confusing.
3. What happens to events after they are over?
After an event is over, it disappears from the list of upcoming events, and becomes somewhat hard to find. This is on purpose, as we didn't want to confuse members by showing all events — we figured it was a lot more useful to just show the future events that you can attend. What do you think?
Let me know if you have any more questions! I'd love to make improvements to the site if we can.
