About Me:
I was born and raised in Western Upstate New York in a small town on the Erie Canal. The rural landscapes and rust belt towns I grew up in remain the inspiration for much of my work. In 1998, I moved to Rhode Island to attend Roger Williams University, where I received a Bachelors degree in Mathematics. I have been painting for more than five years and now work primarily in acrylics. My work is in private collections all over the U.S., France, and Canada.

I fell in love with Rhode Island at an early age when I would come visit a boy I was seeing in high school. To me, it was the greatest place on earth (I was 15 and didn't get out of Rochester much) but my view of RI hasn't changed. The small town feeling of this state is enchanting. I have a series titled "Chubby" that is based on vintage Rhode Island photographs.

My goal is to one day go full time with my painting.

Accidental Motivation

Lately it's been hard to actively motivate myself. However, I have found that recently I am accidentally motivated ...which stinks because I can't plan spontaneity. My husband took a nap yesterday so I decided to get a bit more done on the painting I have been working on...and 3 hours later, it's done.

I have finished 4 paintings in a matter of 2 weeks. I haven't been this productive since I was trying to get work done for the Providence Art Club contest that I was SURE I was going to win (but… Continue

thank you for your comment.

It's nice to hear that from someone younger than myself. I frequently criticize my work for being too conservative. You may inspire me to get further out on the limb.

Thank you for the comment/compliment. I'm so surprised when someone likes one of my paintings. I've always kind of kept my stuff to myself, because its so personal and important for me to do... I've always been afraid that if no one else really liked it, I might not do it anymore. So, I'm happy I'm showing some work, and happy that you like some of it also. You learn a lot about yourself, right? The whole process. Thanks.
