Dreyfus Hotel Blues, Providence RI shot by David Ellis with throwaway MPEG video

This video clip is from a project I worked on documenting the abandoned Dreyfus Hotel in downtown Providence RI for AS220 before they renovated it into artist studios and refurbished the original restaurant. The Dreyfus was a hotel known to have been the refuge or "flop" for Vaudevillian era actors, and I imagine all sorts of travellers, salesmen, and who knows what other goin's-on ocurred here in its day! It was a dark and extremely cold February day when I walked through this unheated and abandoned "lady" letting my little MPEG throwaway video camera roll as I felt the spirits still inhabiting her in the darkened hallways and rundown rooms. I think the video captures the mood and feel of what one could imagine checking into and navigating the halls of this neglected rundown joint must have felt like.

Wow. WOW~
You know, I couldn't take my eyes away...I couldn't WAIT to see what was next, what incredible interior shot was going to dazzle me next. Did you modify this throwaway MPeg camera ? I was wondering how you acheived that glowing, ethereal light from the windows in the building....incredible. Even the rhythm of your camera hold added important dimension to the piece; it had a certain feel, the movement, and it enhanced what you were showing us.
What a unique way to make film !! This is art at it's finest; I'm a huge fan of yours now. :) (<---aspiring film-maker)
